Handtight Racing was founded in 2023 by Maxine Filcher, along with her partners Tayler boyfriend AJ (aka SquidTips). What started as a scrappy weekend crew quickly turned into a full-on race team built on grit, community, and unapologetic queerness.

The name? It comes from a trackside mechanic's words… “Who the hell torqued these to spec? These are race bikes! Everyone knows—get them hand tight then add a bit more. That’s what the safety wire is for.”
